hello dear people,
I arrived at Winnipeg, some town in the middle of canada. i already travelt 1943 km. the train stop's here 4 hours to switch crew and preparing for the next part. In the meentime uploading this peace of the traveljourney.
Day 1 at Toronto

After a bad night sleep, partly due to jetlag. was also a rainy day. So I decided to quietly get up and my first part of my report to write. I was almost finished, my brouwser crashes, and I could start over again. mmm, first speak to some food. after that i went back to my room to finish my first part of the blog:).
when the weather clears up, I went into town to see some more of toroto sights. I figured that it was fun to get to the hospital. So I called the department where I had been. "No way, no problem. bring it along. " I am happy. sooner said than done, I went walking and after a 5 to 10 minutes i was there.s Once again, I saw the nurses who have cared for me. it was always "Joran is here, from london !!".. o and they came rushing. After a while I moved on.
i am getting hungry so i went to Tim Hortens.Back to the hotel. I was quite broken and got the evening to see a movie to watch. "starwars 1" was on the TV. I do enjoy the entire movie sequence. not pretty! every 10 to 15 minutes a commercial break. After the movie I immediately go to sleep.
Day 2 at Toronto

today I was far too early: (. 5:30 I believe. slowly but once up and then what do the city. but that fell through. at about half came a voice through the speakers.
"There have been a fire alarm, we are investigation what it is, keep remain calm and wait for furture instructions. ". that message where told 3 times. after that was the messsage "the firedepartment is investication, stay standby for furture instructions". afther a time it where clear and all was over. what happend i did not know. i dicided to get some information about the check-out times of the hotel. the lady of the reception told me it was 11 o'clock. so i went back to my room and packed everything and leave. i checked out, leave my lugige at the hotel and went into town. i did not had breackfast so i went to a resaurant called "subway". i ordert some bread and had some chat whit the lady. i told her i was on vacation. she gave me 1 cokkie extra. i was pritty surpriced. after breackfast i walked about 30 minutes and came in the harbor. i spent some time there by sitting near the water, in the park and near a drugstore. in the drugstore i bought some stuff. it was alreaddy 4 o 'clock in the afternoon so walked back to the eaton center downtown. there i spending some time to rest so i can walk back to the hotel. around 5 i went to a restaurant and order "Falafel". when i want to pay. my creditcard won't woek propperly, so i tryd 4 times at different banks and atmmachines. finely i got it from the hotel, so can pay my dinner. Still my card doesn't work. i called with the bank but yeah it was in the netherlands (local time 01:00 am). no responce. i called the ensurrence company but still they coudn't help me. then i called my aunt. i explaint to her the stuation and she translate it for the hotel. i got some money from the hotel so i can surfive some day's. well i got to contact my bank in jasper, cuse my train leaves at 22:00 pm. i got the taxi to the station and i was there around 8 in the evening.
well, hahaha. rest i will tell you later!!!!! i am to tired to type. well bye bye... write you soon!!!!!!!!!

Jeeej! Je bent Toronto uit! En je hebt al weer heel wat meegemaakt, lees ik. Leuk dat je nog bij het ziekenhuis langs gegaan bent, en dat ze je nog herkenden :)
Ik hoop dat je een mooie treinreis hebt gehad, maar dat lees ik vast in je volgende blog.

Leuk dat je al een groot deel van canada hebt gezien.
(ik ben nog niet zover geweest).
Veel plezier met de rest van de reis;de Rockies zijn beroemd en vanuit een trein is de beste manier om ze te zien.

Hoi Joran,
Om met het laatse deel van je verhaal te beginnen: Rinnie vertelde me dat ze je aan de telefoon had gehad. Ze vertelde dat het vaker geneurd dat een credit-card het bij de ene bank niet en bij de andere wel doet. Het is gewoon een kwestie van proberen. Bi je volgende stop lijkt het dus verstandig om een aantal banken te proberen tot je 1 hebt gevonden waar je kaart werkt. Ook zou je bij aankomst je hotel kunnen vragenof je bij hen cash kan krijgen op je credit-card. Rin heeft t zelf ook vaak meegemaakt dat haar kaart t niet overal doet. Geen paniek dus.
Dank voor je lange verhaal. Je hebt zo te zien heerlijk rondgekeken in Toronto. Leuk dat je nog terug bent gegaan naar je ziekenhuis: dat je de moeite hebt genomen om ze op te zoeken nu je weer inToronto bent zullen de zusters en broeders zeker op prijs hebben gesteld!
Nu je in Winnipeg je 4-uur stop hebt gehad benje aan het 2e deel van je treinreis begonnen he? Hoe bevalt die treinreis? Daar beniktoch ook wel erg erg nieuwsgierig naar. En slaapt t een beetje in de trein? En is ie vol? met aardige medereizigers?
k Heb gister op t internet een reclamefilmpje zitten kijken van The Canadien en van The Rocky Mountaineer: ziet er geweldig uit!!!

Hallo Joran, ik zal me even voorstellen: Vorig jaar was ik mog een collega van je moeder, nu ben ik met pensioen en heb dus alle tijd om jouw verslag te lezen. Ik vind het erg leuk want ik ben ook een paar keer in Canada geweest. De trein waarmee jij reist heb ik door de Rocky Mountains zien rijden. Daar waar hij echt om de berg heen gaat, je zag zowel de voorkant als de achterkant op een gegeven moment.
Was de falafel lekker? In Jasper is het erg leuk. ga je ook naar Lake Louise?

Hoi Joran,
Nu is het bij jou 10 voor 1 of als er geen zomertijd is 10 voor 12. Je ouwe moeder gaat zo lekker slapen na weer een drukke werkdag in de examentijd. Ik hoop morgenochtend weer een nieuw bericht van je te vinden als je tijd hebt, want als ik je goed volg heb je vanaf vandaag een hotel in Jasper; klopt dat?
